How we ranked enterprise password managers

We ranked each enterprise password manager by its published price per user per month, billed annually, for the cheapest plan that lets staff sign in through your identity provider (SSO), as each vendor describes it on its own pricing page on October 24, 2026. The 25-user totals below are our sums of published prices, before tax. Products with a disclosed vault breach stay in the ranking under the same rule and are flagged.

Partners and non-partners are ranked the same way. Our full method is on how we review.

The 8 enterprise password managers, in rank order

Each pick opens with who it suits, then its SSO detail, price and main limit.

1. Proton Pass Professional

Proton Pass Professional is the cheapest plan we found that includes SSO, at $4.49 per user a month billed yearly, with a 3-user minimum. Proton’s pricing page lists SSO and SCIM, activity logs, enterprise policies and SIEM integration on Professional. The Essentials plan ($1.99) drops SSO.

Skip it if your auditors want a vendor SOC 2 report; we didn’t find one on the Proton pages we checked.

2. Passbolt Pro

Passbolt Pro costs $4.90 per user a month billed annually, with a 10-user minimum, and runs on your own server. Passbolt lists SSO with Microsoft, Google, OpenID and AD FS, plus LDAP provisioning. Passbolt says its code was audited by Cure53 and that it passed a SOC 2 Type II audit, both in 2021. The open-source Community Edition is free for unlimited users but has no SSO.

Skip it if nobody on your team wants to run and patch a server.

3. NordPass Enterprise

NordPass Enterprise costs $5.99 per user a month on the 1-year plan, $5.39 on the 2-year plan the page shows by default, and $7.99 month to month, with a 5-user minimum. Enterprise is the NordPass tier with Entra ID, MS ADFS and Okta sign-in; the cheaper Business plan ($3.99) supports Google Workspace SSO only. NordPass lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certification. The renewal price isn’t published.

Skip it if you sign in with Google Workspace only; the Business plan is enough.

4. Bitwarden Enterprise

Bitwarden Enterprise costs $6 per user a month billed annually and adds SSO, enterprise policies, self-hosting and a free Families plan for each user. Bitwarden’s compliance page lists ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports. Bitwarden Teams ($4) has SCIM provisioning but not SSO.

Skip it if you need SSO on a budget below Enterprise pricing; Proton Pass and Passbolt cost less.

5. Keeper Enterprise

Keeper Enterprise shows $6 per user a month billed annually, though the button asks you to request a quote. Enterprise is where Keeper puts SSO/SAML, SCIM and AD/LDAP provisioning. Keeper Business ($4) has shared team folders and a free family plan for every user, and Business Starter ($2) covers 5 to 10 users. Keeper’s security page lists ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, SOC 2 and FedRAMP High.

Skip it if you want to buy SSO online without talking to sales.

6. LastPass Business

LastPass Business costs $7 per user a month billed annually and includes federated login with your identity provider, directory sync with Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace or OneLogin, and a free LastPass Families account per employee. LastPass Teams ($4.25, up to 50 users) has no directory integration. LastPass is flagged here for its 2022 incident and the 2025 UK fine (see below).

Skip it if the 2022 vault-backup theft rules it out for your security review.

7. Dashlane Omnix Password Management

Dashlane’s Omnix Password Management package costs $8 per user a month billed annually and includes SSO and SCIM. Dashlane sells credential-risk and phishing detection as a separate package.

Skip it if price is the main factor; five plans here with SSO cost less.

8. 1Password Business

1Password Business costs $8.99 per user a month billed yearly, the most of the eight, with a 1-user minimum. 1Password lists integrations with Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin and Duo, sign-in with SSO, provisioning, and a free Families plan for every user. 1Password says it holds a SOC 2 Type 2 report.

Skip it if you’re a team of 10 or fewer; the Teams Starter Pack below is far cheaper.

Cheapest password managers for small teams

Small teams that don’t need SSO can pay much less than the enterprise tiers above.

Which password managers have been breached?

LastPass is the password manager with the best-documented breach: its December 22, 2022 notice says an attacker who had stolen source code in an August 2022 incident later copied a backup of customer vault data. LastPass said the copied vaults held unencrypted data such as website URLs alongside encrypted usernames, passwords and notes.

On November 20, 2025, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office fined LastPass UK Ltd £1,228,283. The ICO said personal data of about 1.6 million was taken from a backup database, and that the most sensitive vault data remained encrypted.

Our breach list covers only incidents we confirmed in primary sources (the vendor’s notice and the regulator’s decision).

What is an enterprise password manager?

An enterprise password manager is a company-wide password vault with central control: an admin decides who gets which shared passwords and can remove access the day someone leaves. The features that separate business plans from personal ones:

  • SSO and provisioning: staff sign in with their work account, and SCIM adds or removes users from your directory automatically.
  • Shared vaults and folders with permissions by team.
  • Policies: minimum password strength, required two-factor login, where the app may be used.
  • Audit logs of who viewed or changed what, often exportable to a SIEM.
  • Offboarding: shared items stay with the company, not the departing employee.

NordPass vs Keeper for business

NordPass and Keeper price their SSO tiers within a few cents of each other; the difference is in how you buy and what comes free.

How to choose

  1. You need SSO and want the lowest bill: Proton Pass Professional, then Passbolt Pro if you can self-host.
  2. Your auditors ask for vendor reports: shortlist Bitwarden, Keeper, NordPass or 1Password, which publish certifications.
  3. Under 10 people, no SSO: NordPass Teams, Keeper Business Starter or the 1Password Teams Starter Pack.
  4. You also manage company phones and laptops: pair the password manager with MDM software and business antivirus, and add a VPN for small business for remote access; our step-by-step small business security guide puts it in order.

Frequently asked questions

Which password manager was hacked?

LastPass. Its December 22, 2022 notice says an attacker copied a backup of customer vault data, and the UK ICO fined LastPass UK Ltd £1,228,283 on November 20, 2025. The ICO found the most sensitive vault data stayed encrypted.

Do security experts recommend password managers?

Yes. CISA, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, tells people to use a password manager rather than write passwords down.

Is Bitwarden good for business?

Bitwarden is open source, holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 reports, and its Enterprise plan ($6 per user a month) adds SSO and the option to self-host.

Does a business password manager include a family plan for employees?

Some do. 1Password Business, Bitwarden Enterprise, Keeper Business and LastPass Business each give every user a free family plan, per their pricing pages.
