CrowdStrike Competitors and Alternatives (2026), Ranked by Price
CrowdStrike's main competitors are SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender, ThreatDown, ESET, Huntress, Bitdefender, Sophos, Trend Micro and Palo Alto Networks. Of the five that publish a price for a plan with EDR or managed detection, Microsoft Defender for Business is the cheapest at $36 per user per year, against $184.99 per device for CrowdStrike Falcon Enterprise (vendor pricing pages, checked October 24, 2026).
- Cheapest EDR: Microsoft Defender for Business, $36 per user per year, up to 5 devices per user
- Closest tier-for-tier match: SentinelOne Singularity Complete, $179.99 per endpoint per year, sold through partners
- Cheapest 24/7 managed option with a list price: ThreatDown Elite MDR, $99 per device per year
Microsoft 365 Business Premium already includes Defender for Business, Microsoft says, so many small offices pay for a CrowdStrike alternative without knowing it. The table ranks every competitor that publishes a price for its cheapest plan with EDR or 24/7 managed detection.

How we rank Not ranked: Bitdefender GravityZone (no published US price for a plan with EDR); Sophos Intercept X (no price on sophos.com; reseller list prices only); Trend Micro (TrendAI) Vision One (no published price); Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR (no published price).
Full criterion: the published yearly list price of each vendor’s cheapest plan that includes EDR or 24/7 managed detection, per device; Microsoft’s figure is per user, and one user covers up to five devices.
How we ranked these CrowdStrike alternatives
We ranked each competitor by the yearly list price of its cheapest plan that includes EDR or 24/7 managed detection, per device, cheapest first. EDR (endpoint detection and response) is what CrowdStrike only sells from Falcon Enterprise up, so it is the fair line to compare at.
- Monthly prices are multiplied by 12; ThreatDown and ESET bundle prices are divided by the device count shown. That arithmetic is ours, from published prices.
- Microsoft prices per user, and one user covers up to five devices; counted as one device per user, its most expensive case, it still ranks first.
- Products without a published price are listed, not ranked. Consumer antivirus and plans without EDR are left out.
- Affiliate status never changes the order, and no vendor pays for its position.
The 9 CrowdStrike competitors and alternatives
Five alternatives publish a price for EDR or managed detection; four sell only through sales or partners. Each entry gives the price, how it differs from Falcon and its main limit.
Microsoft Defender for Business
Microsoft Defender for Business costs $3 per user per month, paid yearly, and includes EDR with automated investigation and response. Microsoft says each user covers up to five devices on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, for up to 300 users. Microsoft 365 Business Premium ($22 per user per month) includes it along with Intune Plan 1. Above 300 users, Microsoft points you to Defender for Endpoint. Skip it if you need a 24/7 human team watching alerts; Defender for Business doesn’t include one.
ThreatDown Advanced EDR and Elite MDR
ThreatDown Advanced EDR costs $79 per device per year, and its Elite MDR bundle with 24/7 human monitoring costs $99 per device. ThreatDown, the business arm of Malwarebytes, sells online from a 5-device cart and discounts three-year terms. Advanced EDR adds ransomware rollback of files changed up to 7 days before an attack, per ThreatDown. Elite MDR is the cheapest 24/7 managed option with a list price on this page.
ESET PROTECT Premium
ESET PROTECT Premium costs $1,030 a year for 10 devices ($103 per device) and includes ESET’s 24/7 MDR. ESET describes it as expert-led threat monitoring that detects and contains threats, on top of everything in PROTECT Core. Core itself costs $549 for 10 devices but has no EDR. Online purchase stops at 99 devices; larger fleets get a quote.
Huntress Managed EDR
Huntress Managed EDR lists at $8.99 per endpoint per month (MSRP), with a 24/7 SOC included. That comes to $107.88 per endpoint per year. Huntress sells mostly through MSPs, who face no Huntress minimum; buying direct or through a reseller needs 50 seats per product. Huntress says its agent runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. The rate falls with volume, but Huntress doesn’t publish the breakpoints; our Huntress cost breakdown works out 25, 50 and 100 endpoints.
SentinelOne Singularity Complete
SentinelOne Singularity Complete lists at $179.99 per endpoint per year and is the closest match to CrowdStrike Falcon Enterprise. Both include EDR (SentinelOne calls it XDR); Complete keeps 14 days of data. Singularity Commercial ($229.99) adds identity threat detection, 90-day retention and managed threat hunting. SentinelOne sells only through authorized partners, whose price controls if it differs, and the list price applies to 5–100 workstations. We compare all five SentinelOne packages and SentinelOne vs CrowdStrike tier by tier separately.
Bitdefender GravityZone
Bitdefender publishes a US price only for GravityZone Small Business Security, which doesn’t list EDR. That plan costs $227.49 for 10 devices in the first year, discounted from $324.99; the renewal price is not published. Bitdefender’s EDR plans aren’t priced online, so we can’t rank them. In AV-Comparatives’ March–June 2026 business test, Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security Premium had the highest protection rate of the products on this page.
Sophos Intercept X
Sophos doesn’t list a price on its endpoint pages; it sells through partners and AWS Marketplace. A Carahsoft private-offer listing on AWS Marketplace shows Intercept X Advanced at $69.90 per endpoint for 12 months and Intercept X Advanced with XDR at $108.73 (unit not stated). Those are reseller list prices, not Sophos’s own, so we don’t rank them. Sophos Intercept X Advanced was in AV-Comparatives’ March–June 2026 business test (results below).
Trend Micro (TrendAI) Vision One
Trend Micro publishes no price for its business endpoint product. Trend Micro’s US business pages now redirect to trendaisecurity.com under the TrendAI name, where Vision One Endpoint Security is offered with a free trial and native EDR and XDR, per the vendor. Pricing goes through sales.
Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR
Palo Alto Networks publishes no Cortex XDR price; the product page offers a demo instead. Cortex XDR is aimed at larger security teams. Expect a quote, and compare it against Falcon Enterprise and SentinelOne Complete at the same device count.
Why do companies look for CrowdStrike alternatives?
The usual reasons are price, the July 2024 outage and the need for a managed service.
- Price. CrowdStrike’s EDR plan, Falcon Enterprise, costs $184.99 per device per year. Five ranked alternatives include EDR or managed detection for less.
- The July 19, 2024 outage. At 04:09 UTC, CrowdStrike released a faulty content update (Channel File 291) for Windows sensors, reverting it at 05:27 UTC, per CrowdStrike’s remediation hub. Mac and Linux hosts were not affected, and CrowdStrike said it was not a cyberattack. Microsoft estimated that 8.5 million Windows devices crashed. CrowdStrike published a root cause analysis on August 6, 2024.
- No one to watch alerts. Falcon Complete, CrowdStrike’s managed service, is quote-only. Huntress, ThreatDown and ESET publish prices for 24/7 managed plans.
CrowdStrike vs the field on entry price
CrowdStrike Falcon Go’s $59.99 per device sits mid-table among entry plans, and most entry plans, Falcon Go included, have no EDR. The table lists each vendor’s cheapest published business plan; per-device figures from bundles are our division.
| Entry plan | Published price | Per device per year | EDR included? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitdefender GravityZone Small Business Security | $227.49 for 10 devices, first year (list $324.99; renewal not published) | $22.75 first year | Not listed |
| Microsoft Defender for Business | $3 per user per month | $36 per user | Yes |
| ESET PROTECT Core | $549 for 10 devices | $54.90 | No |
| CrowdStrike Falcon Go | $59.99 per device | $59.99 | No |
| ThreatDown Core | $69 per device | $69 | No |
| SentinelOne Singularity Core | $69.99 per endpoint (partner-sold) | $69.99 | No |
Falcon Go is also capped at 100 devices. Our breakdown of Falcon plan prices shows bills for 10 and 50 devices on every Falcon plan.
What do independent labs and MITRE show?
In AV-Comparatives’ Business Security Test (March–June 2026), the five products on this page that were tested blocked between 98.3% and 99.8% of real-world attacks. AV-Comparatives tested each product against the same set of live threats; the figures are its own.
| Product as tested | Real-World Protection rate, March–June 2026 |
|---|---|
| Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security Premium | 99.8% |
| Microsoft Defender Antivirus with MEM | 98.8% |
| ESET PROTECT Entry with ESET PROTECT Cloud | 98.8% |
| CrowdStrike Falcon Enterprise | 98.5% |
| Sophos Intercept X Advanced | 98.3% |
SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Huntress, Trend Micro and Palo Alto were not in that test.
MITRE’s ATT&CK Evaluations don’t produce scores or rankings. CrowdStrike took part in the 2025 Enterprise round and says it reached full detection and protection. Microsoft, SentinelOne and Palo Alto Networks sat that round out, per Infosecurity Magazine and SentinelOne’s own blog.
